I have a question about pistons...What's a good cpr that's good for DD? I was thinking 12.0:1(since the JDM Euro R comes with 11.5:1). Also, is supercharging like turbocharging? As far as pistons are concerned, do you have to run low compression pistons for supercharging?

Yes, a supercharger is like a turbocharger in the piston aspect, so lower is better to avoid detonation.

However, I do know of a Miata guy running 11.5:1 pistons with a turbocharger... Seems to do alright, but it is tuned like a MO-FO and C16 gas is a must.

I've always thought that with extensive tuning, you could run slightly higher compression than normal along with a forced induction system.

You can... It just means that you have to have a badass EMS and a world-class tuner to set your car up. Definitely not for a backyard tuner. C16 helps too. :P

^Yeah I've seen Type-Rs and Preludes with their compression being more than 10:1 turbocharged...but the highest I've seen was 12 or 13lbs on an ITR(11.5:1) but it was a race-prepped car.

Yeah... Usually with higher compression piston engines you are limited to lower boost due to the fact that detonation is more likely to occur.
